Holy Week is a privileged time for Missionaries around the world to accompany Jesus, to build community, and together, share the message of God’s love. Like the first apostles, we are sent out in Jesus’ name to prepare the way for His grace in many hearts.
We want to answer Pope John Paul II’s invitation:
“Do not be afraid to go out on the streets and into public places, like the first Apostles who preached Christ and the Good News of salvation in the squares of cities, towns, and villages. This is no time to be ashamed of the Gospel (Rom 1,16). It is the time to preach it from the rooftops (Mt 10,27). Do not be afraid to break out of comfortable and routine modes of living, to take up the challenge of making Christ known in the modern "metropolis". It is you who must "go out into the byroads" ( Mt 22,9) and invite everyone you meet to the banquet which God has prepared for his people. The Gospel must not be kept hidden because of fear or indifference.” -St John Paul II, Denver 1993
This Holy Week 2021 is no different. We want to continue to gather in the mission to go out in evangelize. This year, we will gather in our mission teams across the world in living rooms, campus centers, and parishes for a weeklong mission! We will be connected with hundreds of others across the United States, Canada, and abroad. We will not only be able to evangelize our families, friends, communities, and neighborhoods but across cultures and countries through social media. We invite you to set aside the distractions and normal activities to dedicate this week to mission and evangelization.
